TEK Student Ambassadors
Ella Latavong
My name is Ella Latavong and I'm a freshman here at UK. I'm currently majoring in Marketing and Management along with a minor in Data Analysis. My role as your TEK ambassador is to create any TEK posts or flyers you see around campus. I got involved with TEK because I've personally taken a course through them and they combine class setting while incorporating the Lexington community that can also help you form relations with community partners!
Nathan Smith
My name is Nathan Smith, and I am a TEK ambassador as well as a current student in a TEK course. I am a freshman in the Martin-Gatton CAFE studying Agricultural and Medical Biotechnology. became a TEK ambassador to share the amazing goals that the program accomplishes with the student body and to help spread the word about the courses TEK offers. I hope to apply some of the skills and knowledge that the TEK program has given me in my career as a space-crop scientist.
Karmen Parker
My name is Karmen Parker. I am first year student, a part of the Lewis Honors College, and UK BLUE 3+3 law society. I am majoring in Political Science and will be going to law school in a few years to become a medical compliance attorney. A fun fact about me is that my grandmother and I were born on the same day! I chose to become a TEK ambassador because I value community connection. As a native Louisvillian, I wanted to get integrated in the Lexington community. TEK allows students to emerge themselves in their community of interest. I value being able to experience different perspectives, to make myself a better citizen. I jumped on the opportunity to become a TEK ambassador to allow other students to expand their perspectives of the world we live in, just as I have.
Ben Cantrell
My name is Ben Cantrell. I am a freshman at UK studying finance, as well as a TEK ambassador. I grew up in Winchester, KY, just 30 minutes outside of Lexington. I am the youngest of 3 brothers who are the coolest people I know. My favorite thing in the world is sports. I love just about every single one whether that's playing or watching I became a TEK ambassador because in my first semester I took UKC290, a TEK course on connecting cultures through intercultural communication. The course really stuck with me, and I thought every student here should be a part of this amazing program. TEK has made me a better person and student, and I am excited for my future in this program.
